Essentials: May Bank Holiday

The second bank holiday in May – aren’t we a lucky bunch, eh?! This is the weekend of Radio 1’s Big Weekend and this year, it is held in my home town – Exeter. Unfortunately, I was not quick enough to gain myself a pair of tickets – so while most my friends are galavanting in the grounds of Powderham Castle; I have been cooking, running errands pampering myself and chilling out with the Outlander Season 1 boxset (If you have not watch this, I highly recommend it).

I love having a day where I have no commitments and obligations. Today is for me to do with as I wish! I have put a joint of beef in the slow cooker and prepped all the veggies for tonights dinner and made two apple and cinnamon crumbles for pudding (apparently I’m not very good at portion control). Now that’s all done, I have the rest of the day to watch Outlander (yes, all of Season 1 – don’t judge me!); give my skin the deep cleanse that it needs and see if anything can be done with my pesky pimples around my chin (damn you, hormones!) and give my finger nails a new shape and fresh coat colour! Today will be a wonderfully peaceful day!
